Registered Massage Therapist
She/Her
Sarah is a passionate and competitive sports woman who is consistently seeking a new challenge and adventure. She has always immersed herself in a range of sports, representing Western Australia in both tennis and soccer. She transitioned into a tennis coaching role while completing her Bachelor of Preventative Health at the University of Notre Dame, Australia. She is also a certified personal trainer.
An eager traveler and having skied since age 3, Sarah was drawn to Canada and quickly fell in love with the mountain lifestyle. Her personal health and wellness journey has deepened her appreciation for a holistic approach to manual therapy. This, combined with her caring nature, led her to pursue her Massage Therapy diploma at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, where she graduated with honours and clinical distinction.
Fascinated by human anatomy and physiology, Sarah is dedicated to empower her patients through education and client-centered care. Her therapeutic approach includes Swedish Massage, relaxation techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, hydrotherapy and stretching. This allows her to tailor treatments to meet each individual’s goals. In her free time, Sarah enjoys practicing yoga, paddle boarding, playing softball, camping and snowboarding.
What are your top skills as a registered massage therapist?
As a Registered Massage Therapist, I prioritize clear communication, professionalism, and a calm therapeutic presence to ensure clients feel supported, informed, and relaxed throughout their care. Building a therapeutic relationship based on trust is central to my work. I also believe in empowering patients through education, drawing on my strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
What kind of approach do you take with clients?
My treatment style is a blend of relaxation and therapeutic massage. I believe the nervous system must be regulated before meaningful change can occur. I take pride in creating a safe, relaxing environment through thoughtful music selection, a heated massage table, and slow, rhythmical touch. While I typically use firm pressure, I value active listening and attentiveness to body language, adapting my approach to meet each client’s individual needs.
How would a friend describe you?
What drew you to this profession?
I’ve always been a health-minded and active individual, growing up playing tennis and soccer in Australia, though massage therapy isn’t as common there. My interest in massage therapy began when I moved to Whistler and played softball, where conversations with a teammate who is an RMT sparked my curiosity. Helping people, promoting wellness, and understanding the human body felt like the perfect fit… and it absolutely is!
What lights you up about the work you do?
When a patient leaves the treatment room feeling like a better version of themselves. Whether it’s relief from pain, increased mobility, or a deep sense of relaxation, I feel truly fulfilled. I love this profession and can’t imagine doing anything else.
What motivates you in patient care?
Seeing patients return for follow-up treatments feeling better and experiencing significant improvements in their health and well-being is deeply rewarding. It’s especially meaningful when they trust me enough to recommend my care to their friends and colleagues.
Can you share some highlights in your background or training?
I am enthusiastic about understanding the mind and body on a deeper level, which led me to pursue advanced education in deep fascial treatments. A particular focus area for me is neck and shoulder treatments. I also value supporting pre- and postnatal clients. That said, I genuinely enjoy treating all areas of the body and helping each client feel their best.
What's something people might not expect about you?
Where can we find you when you're not at the clinic?
You can find me relaxing in the sun, traveling in our van, practicing yoga or Pilates, biking, hiking, or playing softball or tennis. When it’s cold, I’ll be snowboarding or warming up in a sauna.
What are your non-negotiable heath/wellness practices or rituals?
In 2024, I attended my first yoga retreat on Bowen Island, followed by another retreat last year in Tofino, BC. Since then, an annual yoga retreat has become a non-negotiable part of my wellness routine. Daily, I prioritize movement, whether it’s a full workout, a quick stretch, or a walk, because any movement is better than none!
