If this is your first Electrotherapeutic Modalities assessment, it usually takes a bit more time, around 60 minutes. During this time your physiotherapists will do an initial assessment to get to know you, your body and its needs. Overall Electrotherapeutic Modalities can be broken down into two categories, electric and non-electric, so you can expect one or more of the following:
- Therapeutic Ultrasound
- Low-Level Laser Therapy
- Interferential Current (IFC)
- Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
- Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)
- Ice
- Heat
Follow-ups can be booked for 30 or 60 minutes, depending on how frequently you are needing them and during those visits, we will check in on your progress and realign your treatment plan to make sure everything is moving smoothly and in accordance with your lifestyle.
